Mini Sketches - September 2017 series

September is my birthday month, so I prepared 20 mini sketches to be releasing every day at 3PM EST in my store, from September 11th until September 30th (that's my birthday!). These little sketches are especially dedicated to any low-fund collectors, who drool over all that amazing artwork that we all follow, but can't afford bigger and more expensive pieces.

They can be found daily, along with anything new I make, at http://zelyss.bigcartel.com/

To stay super updated about my work, you can follow me here:  https://www.instagram.com/zelyss.art/   :)

Returning....

It's been too long, but let's make an effort. Social media should not swallow all other sites, right?

For the next days, I'll be posting here too my series of mini sketches, which I'm creating daily till September 30th!

This one however, was not exactly a mini, but a personal favorite which started the series...

'Carousel Ride' by Zelyss

We all more or less end up abandoning our blogs (I've seen it in many other artists), cause life is so consuming and we end up realizing (and accepting) that there is no time for everything.

I love it though. When I visit my blog to write a post, I feel like standing in front of a stream, with my thoughts flowing freely...

Short stop today again, I thought of showing you the unexpected route a painting can take. How we can start with one feeling and end up with another. This is my 'Carousel Ride', a very dear piece to me. From sketch to (almost) final. I'm not posting the final-final stage yet, but the 4th photo is pretty close to what it is.

Our paintings grow, along with us....

Lollipop Rococo

This is my last painting, 'Lollipop Rococo' and I wanted to share it in bigger analysis with you.

She's the first actual Lowbrow piece that I've painted and it feels kind of awkward. But it certainly has the general feeling of my work on it.

I hope you like it!

Elephant lover's eye

This heart-shaped block of wood was laying around in the studio for far too long. I ended up into turning it into an 'Elephant lover's eye'... I'll take another photo of it hung up on a wall because I was in a rush this morning.

I'm thinking of keeping it but I'm a little worried that we'll start looking too much like a museum around here in the end... I 'd so like that! :)

'Guarding Angelica' by Zelyss

Angels are a good theme for Sundays I think... and Mondays. And so on...
Detail of my painting 'Guarding Angelica', acrylics on board.

Runaway Scarlett : detail

Clearing up my camera and I just came across this photo. I kinda love it, so I thought to post it. The lighting is totally off , glares everywhere, but the butterscotch colored eyes are there...

You can see the full painting here: deviantart - zelyss

Progress photo - girl in woods

This photo is in so many ways wrong, it was taken in the dawn fade natural light creeping in my studio. But the painting is coming out so nice... I'm thrilled!!! I think in the end I will wanna go parading in the streets to show it off... ;)

To Blue Fridays

Only a couple months back and it seems like it's been years since I painted her. I came across this photo in my folder and had to repost it, she's one of my favorites. I'm in the same color tones with this today, blue as can get. I've got a flue and I've got the blues, my head 's spinning and couldn't have my painting session. There goes half a day lost... :(

PS. I'm more punctual on my Facebook and Instagram feeds. Hard to keep everything updated, because taking photos, improving them, uploading them, writing something, it all takes time in a day. I've got to paint too, right? Plus all that other boring and totally time-wasting stuff, like feeding myself+others, sleeping etc.  Tsk!! ;)
